Himalayan Trek to Pindari and Kafni Glacier

The Nisarga Bhraman brings you an exciting summer adventure with action packed trekking in Himalayas. Summer is the season to visit Himalayas at its best. Not only do we escape the sweltering heat and grime of the city but also we find solace in nature and adventure.
We will be visiting Pindari and Kafni glaciers; trudging up precipitous passes, sliding over the sizzling snow fields, and gorging on the soul-stirring scenery while conversing with the Himalayan fairies at altitudes of 3,000 to 3,800 metres.
This event is being organized in Collaboration with Sussat… Rebel on Wheels.

PINDARI & KAFNI GLACIER TREK

This world famous glacier is a trekkers paradise, as it is easier to visit than most other glaciers. This glacier is situated between snow capped NANDA DEVI and NANDAKOT mountains. The river Pindari originates from this glacier. The glacier is at an altitude of 12532 ft. (3820 mtrs). The entire trekking route is filled to the brim with natural beauty. The beautiful view of Kumaon Himalaya can be seen from the Zero point of Pindari
Glacier.

One Day Trip to Khanderi and Underi Forts on 17th March 2013

Khanderi and Underi forts are situated on two islands near Thal village, 8 Kms north to Alibaug and 20 Kms off the coast of Mumbai. Both the forts still stand proud in the Arabian Sea with their intact fortified walls.

Khanderi was built by Shivaji Maharaj to keep a check on the Siddhis of Janjira and British. Marathas started building fortification in 1672. One can see Iron Canons with cart wheels on Khanderi Fort. The most prominent structure on Khanderi is a lighthouse built by British. Underi Fort is smaller than Khanderi and is nearly circular. It was built by Siddhi Kahim in 1680.

Khanderi is located a bit far from the beach and can be reached irrespective of High Tide or Low tide as it has a jetty but Underi can only be reached in low tide.
