The fort of Peb, located conveniently close to Matheran is a wonderful weekend getaway for most Mumbaikars and Punekars; interested in trekking. The hike to the fort is of medium grade and takes around 2.5 hours if climbed from Neral or 1.5 hrs from Matheran, which allows one the experience of walking on the tracks of the Neral - Matheran Mini Train. The fort is impressive and the view from the top is mind blowing.

Trek to Naneghat & Jivdhan Fort on 13th & 14th June 2015
The rain god has blessed everyone of us with the first shower of thios season. Nisarga Bhraman is glad to announce an overnight trek to an ancient ghat route of Naneghat and awesome Jivdhan Fort overlooking it. We invite all enthusiasts to join us for this trek on 13th and 14th June 2015.
Naneghat: Naneghat is an ancient pass in the western ghats. During Satwahana period (220BC to 190AD), it was extensively used by traders as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar. A big pot; which was used for toll collection is still present there.
Jivdhan Fort: Situated on the mouth of Naneghat, Fort Jivdhan is one of the important forts built to keep watch on this trade route. It is also famous for the pinnacle Vandarlingi. Temple of godess Jivai, rock cut Water Cisterns, Store house and some dilapidated fortification are few places to see on the fort.
