Waterfall Rappelling at Dodhani Waterfall on 10th August 2013

Rappelling down the waterfall is an experience of a lifetime! The sound of the cascading water along with the mist & spray that accompanies it makes the descend a thrilling experience.

We at Nisarga Bhraman have arranged a one day adventure activity of waterfall rappelling at Dodhani Waterfall on Saturday, 10th August 2013.


Height of the waterfall: 90 feet approx

Rendezvous:

Meet up at Panvel Railway Station at 7:30am sharp near the ticket counter.

How to Get there:


Western Suburbs - Train to Dadar (WR) & changeover to CR. Take slow/fast train to Kurla & changeover to PF.7 for the Harbour Line Train to Panvel

Central Suburbs - Access Harbour Line from Kurla/Thane

South Mumbai - Take the Panvel Train from CST

Train Timings:

CST - 6.00AM; Wadala - 6.18AM; Kurla - 6.28AM; Vashi - 6.47; Panvel - 7.17AM

OR

CST - 6.08AM; Wadala - 6.26AM, Kurla - 6.36AM; Vashi - 6.55AM; Panvel - 7.25AM

Note: Participants who get late will have to arrange for their own transport from Panvel bus stand to Dodhani village. Kindly avoid getting late to save yourself the inconvenience.

Cost of this event would be Rs 650/- for registered members of Nisarga Bhraman and Rs 50/- extra for others.

Important Note: To Avoid Inconvenience, The Rappelling Order would be assigned as per the Registrations on "First Come First Served" basis.


What to Expect:

> Each participant will get an opportunity to Perform the Activity only once. If anyone is interested to repeat, then the same would be only allowed after all participants are done & at an additional cost.

> Please wear appropriate footwear & clothes. Eg: Sandals/Chappals to be avoided, wear shoes/floaters. Also avoid wearing Jeans as they tend to become heavy when wet & can also cause skin rashes, wear Track Pants, Shorts, etc.

> Travel from the Panvel to Dodhani & back would be in an Rickety State Transport Bus; so people accustomed to Luxury travel may steer clear. Only those seeking adventure & the fun/thrill of taking a drive in the Red Bus may join us!

> Minor scratches, bruises, & bumps may be the order of the day for a handful lucky chaps while rappelling, please come with an open mind about it. On our part, we would have a fully stocked medical kit to treat all injuries.

> There is no shelter on top of the waterfall, so please carry an umbrella if you do not like standing/sitting in the rain.

> Please carry a good mosquito/insect repellent spray/cream.

> There are no toilet facilities once we leave the cozy confines of the railway /bus station. 

> There may be No Facility available for changing clothes on getting back down. 

> Those wishing to leave early post the event will have to arrange for their own transport to Panvel. There are State Transport Buses available from the village every 1 hour.

> Following the instructions & the advice of the instructor during the Rappel/Flying Fox would be in the participant’s best interest!

> And last but definitely not the very least, get your cheerful self to the waterfall, have a great time, & enjoy.


Here is a list of all the things that need to be carried for the trek: 


1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking. Please do not carry sling bags or Jholas.

2. At least 1 set of spare clothes with a towel and napkin.
3. Soap and other accompaniments.
4. Optional: Camera & something to munch on.
5. At least 1 liter of water.
6. Personal Medicines required if any
7. Identity Proof.
8. Lunch for the day

Few rules that we would like people to follow:


1. Alcohol will strictly not be permitted on the trek. Anyone found in possession of the same or consuming it will be expelled from the trek.

2. Smoking will only be permitted after consultation with the Leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke.
3. The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
4. Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
5. Please do not wear any jewelry or gold chains/rings.
6. Please do not litter, we strongly believe in the saying, “Leave only Footprints, Take back only Memories”
