About the place -
Fort Raigad which served as a capital of Maratha empire, initially known as Rairi and then rebuilt by Chatrapati Shri Shivaji Maharaj, a Hindu Maratha warrior in 16th century. It took 4 years (1670-1674) to build up the fort. Height of the fort is 2830 feet from the sea level and the base village is Raigadwadi or Nijampur situated 22 kms away from Mahad. Palace of Shivaji raje, Residence of their ministry, Nagarkhana, Baajarpeth, Jagadishwar Mandir, Vaadeshwar Mandir, Gangasagar lake, Hatti Talav, Kushavarta Lake, 12 take, Bhavani Tok, Takmak Tok, Hirkani cha Buruj, Maargiri cha Buruj, Khubladha Buruj, Daaru kothar, Shibandi chi Gharti, Maha Darwaja, Wagh Darwaja, Shiv Samadhi are certain places to see on the fort. One can see Forts like Lingana, Konkandiva, Torna, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Madhumakarandgad and Pachad cha Kot from the top of Raigad.

Itinerary -
Friday, 18th October 2013 -
Meet at National Park Gate at 10:00 pm
Travel by private vehicle towards Raigad
Pick ups on the way at Andheri, BKC, Sion & Vashi
Saturday, 19th October 2013 -
Reach at the base of Raigad by 5:00 am
Start the hike to Raigad
Reach top by 8:30 am
Breakfast on top
Explore the fort
Lunch & rest
Explore the fort
Dinner and stay on the fort
Night Photography in a full moon night.
Sunday, 20th October 2013 -
Wake up early, freshen up
Breakfast at 7:30 am
Descend Raigad at 8:00 am
Visit Pachad cha Kot
Visit Gandharpale Caves (Optional)
Travel back towards Mumbai by 1:00 pm
Lunch on the way
Reach Mumbai by 8:00 pm
Cost of the trek would be Rs. 1250/- for members and Rs. 1300/- for others.

- Torch with extra set of batterries

- Identity Proof
- Smoking and possession and/or consumption of Alcohol will strictly not be permitted on the event & would lead to expulsion from the trek.
- Stay with the group.
- The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No arguments will be entertained.
- Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
