One Day Trek to Tringalwadi Fort on 29th June 2014

Nisarga Bhraman invites you all enthusiastic trekkers to join as we have arranged a one day trek to the Tringalwadi Fort near Igatpuri on 29th June 2014.

Tringalwadi is a small fort situated in the Igatpuri region, approximate 7 kilometers away from Igatpuri station. It was basically built for the purpose to keep a watch on the surrounding area. One can see a beautiful entrance with amazing steps, carved in one rock, caves, water cisterns and of course some remnants on the fortification and a beautiful view of back water of Tringalwadi dam. At the base of the fort are beautiful Jain Caves which are dated back to the 10th century.

Plan:

Meet at Borivali Railway Station (East) at 5:15 am sharp

• Travel by private vehicle towards Igatpuri
• Pick ups on the way at Goregaon, Powai, Thane 3 Hath naka
• Breakfast on the way
• Reach Base village by 9:30 am 
• Round of Introduction, Rules & Regulations
• Start the trek by 10:00 am
• Hike to the top of the fort & explore the area (~2.5 Hrs)
• Lunch on top at 1:00 pm
• Descend to Jain Caves & Explore (~1 Hr)
• Descend back to Tringalwadi village by 5:00 pm
• Travel back to Mumbai by private vehicle
• Get back to Mumbai by 9:30 pm

The cost of the event would be Rs. 700/- Only.

• Transport from Mumbai to Tringalwadi & Back by private vehicle

Here is a list of the things to be carried for the trek –

1. Haversack (with rain cover) to put in everything to be carried for the trek
2. Lunch for the day unless you plan to go hungry
3. Water - 2 liters at least
4. Extra clothes, Towel / Napkin
5. Wind cheater / Rain cheater
6. Wear good quality sport shoes / floaters
7. Personal medicine required if any
8. Identity Proof
9. Camera with extra batteries
10. Something to munch on (Toffees, Chocolate, Chikki, Biscuits etc.)
11. Wrap everything in the plastic bag to protect from rain

Few rules that we would like people follow -

• Alcohol will strictly not be permitted on the event and would lead to expulsion from the event.
• Smoking will only be permitted while we stop at a clearing, after consultation with the ‘Leader’ and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke.
• The Leaders decision will be final and binding on all members. No arguments will be entertained.
• It is of utmost importance that all participants stick together in the group. 
• In the event of any Mishap/Eventuality, Nisarga Bhraman and/or its Leaders will not be held responsible.
• Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
• Please do not wear any jewelry or gold chains/rings.
• Please do not litter, we strongly believe in the saying, “Leave only Footprints, Take back only Memories”
