Overnight trek to Rajmachi Fort on 23-24 August 2014

With monsoons in full swing, everyone heads out to the numerous waterfalls that dot the landscape, the only downside to the fun being the crowds that exist at these waterfalls. 

We at Nisarga Bhraman have decided to head out on an “Overnight Trek” to Rajmachi to Enjoy & Frolic in the huge waterfalls that line the route minus the unruly crowds!

Meet at 06:15AM (Sharp) on Saturday, 23rd August 2014 at Dadar station on Platform number 4 at the extreme Karjat end of the platform, for the uninitiated: The Motorman’s end of the platform!.

We will be taking the 06:30AM fast local for Karjat. The train halts at Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane, Dombivali, & Kalyan, onwards on all stations. Those staying enroute can get in at these stations.

Please ensure that you Purchase return tickets till Karjat.

Travel by Sinhgad Express leaving Pune Station at 6:00 am

The Itinerary for the trek is as as given below:

Saturday, 23rd August 2014: 

• Travel to Karjat by local train
• Travel to base village by local transport
• Breakfast, Introduction, Rules & Regulations
• Start the trek by 10:00 am
• Enjoy enroute in waterfalls, Lunch on the way
• Reach Rajmachi Plateau / Udhewadi by 2:00 pm
• Explore Manaranjan Fort at 4:00 pm
• Get back to the village by 6:30pm
• Evening Snacks & Rest
• Dinner & retire for the night

Sunday, 24th August 2014:

• Wake up early at 6:00 am & Freshen up 
• Visit Shrivardhan Fort at 7:00 am
• Visit ancient Shiva Temple
• Breakfast at 10:00 am
• Start descend towards Kondhane village
• Reach Kondhane caves by 12:30 pm
• Lunch at 2:00 pm
• Travel back to Karjat & reach by 4:00 pm approx.

The cost of this trek would be Rs. 1050/- only.

1. A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking. Please do not carry sling bags or Jholas.

Few rules that we would like people follow:

1. Alcohol will strictly not be permitted on the trek. Anyone found in possession of the same or consuming it will be expelled from the trek.
2. Smoking will only be permitted when we stop at the clearing and after consultation with the Leader. The person will have to move away from the group to smoke.
3. The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
4. Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
5. Please do not wear any jewelry or gold chains/rings.
6. Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “When you go to the mountain leave only your footprints and bring back only memories”
