Dhule Region Trek on 9th & 10th January 2016

Nisarga Bhraman brings you a two days trek to explore lesser known forts in Dhule region. We will be covering Songir, Laling, Galna and Kankrala Forts on 9th and 10th January 2016.

About the place - 

All the four forts - Songir, Laling, Galna and Kankrala are located around Dhule City and are of easy grade. All of them are fortified hills and have many remains to see atop.

Itinerary - 


Friday, 8th Jan 2016 -

  • Meet at SGNP gate at 22:30 pm sharp
  • Travel towards Dhule by private vehicle
  • Pickups on the way at Goregaon, Powai & Thane teen hath naka


Saturday, 9th Jan 2016 - 
  • Reach base of Songir Fort
  • Freshen up and Breakfast
  • Start the trek to Songir Fort by 7:00 Hrs
  • Explore the fort and descend back
  • Travel to Laling village by 9:00 Hrs
  • Start the trek to Laling Fort by 10:30 Hrs
  • Lunch and rest
  • Travel to Kankrale village
  • Start the trek to Kankrala Fort by 15:00 Hrs
  • Explore Kankrala Fort and descend by 17:30 Hrs
  • Travel to Galne village
  • Night stay at the base of Galne
  • Dinner and retire for the day

Sunday, 10th Jan 2016 - 

  • Wake up early, Freshen up and Breakfast
  • Start trek to Galne Fort
  • Explore and descend back by 1pm
  • Lunch
  • Explore Old Temples in the region if time permits
  • Travel back towards Mumbai by 15:00 Hrs
  • Reach Mumbai by 22:00 Hrs (tentative)

List of the things to be carried for the trek - 
  1. Haversack to put in everything to be carried for the trek
  2. Water - 3 ltrs minimum
  3. Torch with extra set of batteries
  4. Plate / Mug / Spoon
  5. Sleeping material / Carry Mat / Sleeping Bag
  6. Extra clothes, Towel, Napkin
  7. Something to munch on 
  8. Personal Medication required if any
  9. Identity Proof
Few rules that we would like people to follow - 

1. Smoking and possession and/or consumption of Alcohol will strictly not be permitted on the event & would lead to expulsion from the trek.
2. Do not play loud music / shout in the jungle premises. That disturbs animals and reduce sighting chances.
3. Stay with the group.
4. The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
5. Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.
6. Please do not wear any jewelry or gold chains/rings.

7. Please do not litter, we believe in the saying, “Wherever you go, leave only your footprints and take back only memories”

Hiking / Trekking / Rock climbing is an adventurous activity and accidents can happen in spite of taking utmost caution and care. The organization will not be responsible for any injury / accident / death to the participant while on trek.

Medical Disclaimer:

It is Important to be physically fit while on treks. If suffering from any allergy or ailment, please bring prescribed medicines to prevent serious health problem including heatstroke, sever headache, cough, dehydration and hypothermia. Participants suffering from chronic conditions like asthma bronchitis, blood pressure, migraine, diabetes etc should take permission from their physicians before treks.
